Commission Painting

Have some miniatures that need painting?  Perhaps I can paint them for you.  I prefer to paint vintage miniatures.  I'd rather not paint any Reaper Miniatures or Space Marines.  I don't really care to try to get the armor "edge" effect of 40K miniatures.  I can't free-hand paint shields or banners either.  My primary technique is a white or light gray undercoat.  Base colors.  Then darker wash.  If the model uses a lot of earth tones, I'll often use a single wash for the entire thing.  Then highlighting.  Sometimes I'll use a glaze after highlighting.  Basically, I see a miniature as a three-dimensional coloring book.  I learned everything I know about painting from one issue of White Dwarf Magazine in the early 90's, and experience, around 40 years now.  I also don't do the non-metal-metallic thing.  Sorry.

Here are some hill giants for a client who is gaming the Against the Giants modules.  Most of them are Ral Partha, a couple Grenadier, the white haired one is from Adina.  The client said this one was for comedic effect so I painted spectacles on him.  The model doesn't really have glasses, but the eyes are sculpted so large and prominent they actually work.  The one at back center is the leader from, (Castle Giant) from Rieder Designs.  The one on the "stump" is from Citadel.
